Meet Britt (the other half): Our Story

Updated: 4 hours ago

A Much Needed Adventure...

In early 2017, at 31 years old, I found myself trapped in a fluorescent lit beige cubicle 45 min south of Boston in Taunton, MA. Having grown up on the south shore all my life, I didn’t have a passport, had never taken any meaningful trips, and couldn’t fathom how I ever would - between work, adulting, and funds. Honestly, I was miserable.

Then, midway through that year, a sudden sense of dread hit me. I thought, “To hell with this!” So, I got myself a CapitalOne Venture travel card. I booked my first international flight (and whatever an Airbnb was) with that card. I also set about getting my passport - hopefully in time - for my four-day city break to Edinburgh for the Halloween/Samhuinn Fire Festival and my “West Highlands Lochs & Castles” tour.

Thankfully, my passport arrived just in time ::whew:: I excitedly (and anxiously) boarded my flight late one evening after one of my best friends' weddings >> improperly dressed for a Scottish autumn and sporting a serious limp from a sprained left foot from going too hard with the Cotton Eyed Joe in 4" red suede heels after a few too many whisky sours...

From the moment I set foot in Scotland, just outside Waverley Station, staring straight up at the Sir Walter Scott monument, I knew I belonged here.

It pulled me in instantly and hasn’t let go since.

A Memorable Tour Experience

On day two of my city break, after limping for two miles (because I didn't know how AirBnB worked and ended up wayyy outside the city centre), clutching an iced coffee and a scone desperately to my chest. I was ten minutes late for my Rabbie's tour.

When I finally arrived, I was greeted by my tall, blue-eyed, kilted, deep-voiced Scottish tour guide. With a cheeky smile, he said, “You must be Britt then; looks like you’ll be my co-pilot for the day.”

I spent the rest of that day trying to wrap my head around how this was suddenly my life. I couldn’t imagine going back to my old one.

The Journey Continues

Fast forward several years, two weddings across two countries, and a LOT of stories and many many struggles. Here I am, helping that very same tour guide bring his charm, knowledge, cheeky nature, and love of his homeland to every one of our clients.

So, come along on an adventure with us! Let’s explore the enchanting beauty of Scotland together. Whether it’s your first trip or your fiftieth, there’s always something new to discover.
